OUR STORY
A Journey Through Two Millennia
Classic Time Travel was founded on a simple but powerful idea: that the ancient Roman world is not merely history — it is a living, breathing story that still shapes our cities, laws, languages, and imaginations today. We believe that standing in the shadow of a Roman amphitheater, walking the stones of Ostia Antica, or tracing the arc of the Pont du Gard connects us to something profound and enduring.
Our founder, Don Fenton, spent decades studying, photographing, and exploring Roman archaeological sites across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. What began as a personal passion evolved into a mission: to share these extraordinary places with others who share the same curiosity and wonder.
From Scipio's Italica near Seville (c. 200 BC) to Hadrian's Wall (122 AD), from Caesarea on the Mediterranean to the Pont du Gard near Nîmes — Classic Time Travel has guided travelers through the breadth and depth of the Roman world.

Founder & Lead Guide
Don Fenton has spent a lifetime in pursuit of the ancient Roman world — as a traveler, photographer, researcher, and educator. His photographs of Roman sites across three continents have documented some of the most significant archaeological landscapes in existence.
Don's approach combines the rigour of a scholar with the warmth of a storyteller. Whether exploring the streets of Pompeii, the baths of Caracalla, or the remote outposts of Hadrian's Wall, he brings an infectious enthusiasm and a deep well of knowledge to every experience.
